Lizzy Mulroy is an artist from Southern California. Her upbringing in suburban Orange County and summer visits to her mother’s homeland of France coupled to give her a raging traveler’s itch. After high school, she spent a year in Kenya, a year in Paris, and four years in Berlin, living with over a hundred artists and sharing influences in true bohemian fashion. The freedom of exposure to different cultures, styles, and the adventure of her lifestyle made her the artist she is today.

Mulroy is most inspired by the Fauvists and impressionists. She is thrilled by the sense of “taking a polaroid” of a scene; much of her portrait work is done in this spirit. She is likewise heavily inspired by religion and spirituality, and often aspires to convey a specific feeling or image that surfaces in her meditations. Occasionally an image will seize her like a bolt from the blue and take her hostage until she complies to paint it.

Much of her art is painted for her music. You can listen to it here.
